Museum of ceramics

The ceramic Museum of Castelli is a symbol of excellence for the village. It was established in 1984, to enlarge the ?Civic collection of ceramics? made by Giancarlo Polidori, headmaster at the local school, about 50 years before. The Museum became more and more rich and important thanks to donations from private collectibles of local and foreign families. The Museum works to promote the ceramic, to preserve the local traditions, to grant the knowledge of the history, to keep pieces that show the developement of our ceramics, since the Middle Age, through the diffent styles and centuries. The Museum is located in an ancient Franciscan monastery, not far from the center of Castelli; it has a beautiful cloister, entirely covered with frescoes about the life of Holy Mary, made in 1712.
